Товарищи, у меня в графическом режиме не устанавливается timezone и пакет NTP что есть, что нет. Как руками установить?

И все-таки, как установить русскую локаль в Debian? Вроде бы русский в консоле отображается, в браузере и тд, но $ locale

Из-а этого gftp кириллицу показывать не хочет. Патчи левые ставить не хочу. Но, тогда может найти альтернативу gftp? А что вместо него юзать? Все остальное я настроил…

Several years ago, when the 2.4 kernel was all the rage. I noticed that Linux did not behave like FreeBSD in regards to swapping to the disk. FreeBSD would swap when available RAM was in short supply. Linux however, seemed to swap to disk, just for the sake of swapping. It always seemed silly to me, and definitely a hit to performance.
